Speaking about its impressive cinematics, Nintendo Treehouse's JC Rodrigo has revealed that the whole thing is more about the "loot grind" and unlocking of characters, rather than being a dramatic spectacle throughout. Of course, we'll have a better understanding of how this one plays out when the game launches this Friday but, until then, let's see what Nintendo has to say about the mode. We all love jumping into the arena for a good ol' smash session - ahem - but this new mode looks set to add some dramatic, yet optional, changes to certain aspects of the game. Ultimate is the World of Light mode, partly thanks to that trailer, and partly thanks to it being a whole new element to the game. Various parameters can be tweaked, and there’s a proper ranking system while playing online as well. Ultimate can still partake in 1v1, 5v5, and numerous other battles. Those interested in playing against others in Super Smash Bros. Each battle is specifically tuned to reflect the Spirits in battle and players can even choose which routes to take as they progress. The good news is that for the solo player, World of Light is positively brimming with things to do, as Kirby embarks on a journey to free his friends and take on doppelgangers wielding different Spirits. So if you wanted to play with a friend, similar to Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. This was confirmed by NintendoLife when they went hands on with the game. While the game looks great and World of Light, the new Adventure mode, looks compelling, it does have a small caveat: No co-op. They recently released a new trailer for the upcoming Switch exclusive and had the legendary Announcer run down all the features. Ultimate has been receiving tons of new information and footage today.
